About Odette
Who is this person…Odette?
I write novels and short stories and novelettes and rarely, but sometimes, flash fiction. I love writing, specifically fantasy writing because the potential in my made-up worlds is so much more exciting than real life.
Escapism? Yes. But in my opinion, fantasy is a good thing. I wouldn’t want to deal with an uptight, control-freak, Ice Mage in real life. But writing and reading about it in the glorious fictional world that plays out in my head?
Yes, please!
Not to mention that the characters I create inspire me and excite me. Women who struggle and find their strengths. Women who are filled with magic. Women who are loved and seen and come into their power at the end of each story. The characters I write are people I wish I could be friends with!
The make-believe world I write
Omnos Island is where all the action in my series happens. An island divided into seven separate countries and under siege from the Ice Mage I mentioned above. There is magical energy running through the island and fueling the powers of elemental magic-users throughout. Each novel in the series reveals more and more about the island’s magic, it’s past, and the magic users tasked with keeping the magic alive and the island protected.
It's part of a bigger world. An entire planet that I am planning on writing about in further stories. You can read about the history of the planet's beginnings here.
As a matter of fact, yes.
I would love to hear from you!
Drop me a line and tell me what you’re reading right now, or what you like about the Omnos Island series, or your favorite character, or something you want me to write about. It’s all good and all fair game.

I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. I swear.
Thanks for reading all the way down to the bottom of this page. You are truly a committed reader who is a no-nonsense, go-getter! I can appreciate that kind of dedication.
May your life be filled with unending stacks of books, light by which to read them, and happy, satisfying endings!
